Agreed, however in a VM I did not find any advantage to running Mint over a
slimmer distro. The MGSE stuff may help get over the initial shock of Unity,
still, I'm not sure where Gnome 3 is headed; likely not towards making MGSE a
standard part of Gnome 3.
These days I'm using XFCE4 more often than Gnome or KDE desktops, as I can be
fairly certain it's not going to get a complete UI revamp anytime soon.

I run Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Debian and Arch machines, mostly.
