The N64 was great for multiplayer games, that I remember. The PSX fell short in
that regard. There weren't many games that supported more than 2 players, and if
you wanted to play 3 or 4 player games you needed a bunch of extra accessories
which most people didn't bother with. Meanwhile the N64 had stuff like Perfect D
ark.
I think the reason why the Saturn flopped is because Sega had damaged their repu
tation too badly with an ininteligible line of products. Their prior consoles ha
d so many addons and the naming was so confusing it was hard to tell what they w
ere doing. If I had been on the market for a console just before the Saturn era
I would have just dropped Sega from my list directly.
