I think most people don't have that much of a problem with other people killing
themselves. I think the problem is about how the social framework is constructed
.
There was a case in Spain which would have been comical if somebody's life hadn'
t been on the line. It was about a gal who was taken into custody by social serv
ices and put in a residence with a bunch of immigrants. She was abused and nobod
y gave a damn about her so eventually she jumped off a window and still didn't k
ill herself. She ended up paralyzed and they offered euthanasia to her.
Apparently she refused and the family was fighting the system very hard to recov
er her custody, but eventually she gave up to the presure.
Hard to tell what the real story was since the media has a knack for twisting fa
cts but it sounds like the Spaniard way of doing things to me.
