You may recall the "defun the police"
movement. While the messaging was
abysmal, one of the things that they
were discussing was that police are
militarized to such a degree and amped
up to such a degree that the risk of
kids getting shot for just playing
games like kid have always done has
appered to go up.
Their solution was obviously to
de-militarize the cops. I'm not sure ifthat would have been enough or even
address the issue at hand (among the
others) but it was conversation that
ended too soon and I suspect will occuragain several time before I die.
