There is tons of evidence from the past several voting cycles showing the issues
w/ [blanket] mail-in voting. Its in plain sight - sure, if you ASK for mail-in
and register correctly I have nothing against that... but blanket mail-in, like
in Oregon, leads to all sorts of issues, fraud, abuse and just isn't good.
TBH, with where we are with technology I'd support an ID-based electronic voting
system - any way(s) that can't easily be abused like blanket mail-in.
ONE way is the old system - vote in person, with ID... another would be to
design a new security focused app-based system where voters must show their govt
ID [preferably electronic!], live human verification and place votes
electronically after safeguards are passed - this would give us [better than]
the old way results the same night as a POTUS race and usher us into the future
in a way that can't be abused.
But what do I know... blanket mail-in is so bad - take a zip code, and throw
away all the [republican/democrat area] votes... head of household fills out all
ballots with their choice... extra ballots are dropped at election boxes - etc,
etc, etc.
