That whole paragraph is simply an admission that you only care about your
beliefs and not the truth. Where is the examination of your beliefs? There
is none. There is only reaffermation.

So you admit that you could be going blithely along with your beliefs,
thinking you may deserve one thing, but have not notion of what you truly
deserve. How do you make sure you are doing the right thing?

If you don't truly investigate your beliefs, you could one day be standing
before Allah and then where would you be?
