People can be wonderful and still be ill.
I find it telling that every disphoria is regarded as a pathological condition e
xcept gender disphoria. If you feel your arm does not belong to you that is cons
idered pathological, but if you feel your penis does not belong to you that is h
ealthy, normal and should be encouraged.
Breaking news: if your condition needs treatment then it is pathological. Anythi
ng that needs a solution is a problem: if you need to take action (such as remov
ing your penis) in order to feel fine then it signals you have a problem that ne
eds a solution. So it is a pathological situation whether you think disphoria is
"bad" or "normal".
That said, being ill does not mean you get disqualified the same way you don't g
et disqualified for other pathologies. We let dissabled people drive cars after
all.
