One thing I like about Linux with either Gnome or KDE is that it has a command
prompt and you can do a lot of things with the old fashion "entering it in on
the command prompt" while still having the GUI in the background. So it's like
having the cake and eating it too! Might taste a little like plastic or glass,
but you get the idea.
