The fear of automation overshadowing Human jobs has existed ever since mechinisa
tion began over a century ago, it just took different forms, but in all cases, t
he impact was far less than anticipated.
When I was coming up, the big fear was that computers (mainframes) were gonna pu
t everybody out of work. While some jobs were rendered obsolete, it created man
y new ones. How things will shake out around LLMs is unknown right now, but I'd
hazard a guess that it'll work out in time. Personally, I'm hoping for the str
icter side of LLM usage.
