It's possible (there is no such feature currently), but it would cause a lot of

sability issues. For example, if you switch to 132 column mode, and the
screen
isn't wide enough to support it at your current zoom level, what should
happen?
Potential problems like that, and the difficulties that would happen due to how
t
he scrollback is managed and such make it "too hard to be worth it".
