We are so spoiled with modern computer performance that I don't think I can reme
mber a single time when I've sat there thinking "I wish this grep would hurry up
".
Having said that I didn't touch any OS that *had* grep until I ordered the FreeB
SD 4.3 (?) CD set, which would have been running on Pentium II or similar. I pro
bably wouldn't have grep'd anything serious for another decade after that.
