Wow. Are new users having any issues registering? What's in your text/name.can f
ile?

Similarlly, what's in your text/password.can file? The stock password.can file i
s pretty massive, but it doesn't contain any wildcards. Check the userbase to se
e if the user has a password or not - if they don't have a password, that defini
tely raises the question: when and how was the account created to begin? It is p
ossible for the sysop to create user accounts with no password (e.g. the "Guest"
account), but generally not possible for remote users to do so. As for the pass
word length, it's possible your current minimum password length configured in SC
FG->System->Security is longer than what used to be the hard-coded minimum passw
ord length (4, I think it was).

That would be weird. Have you checked?

Looks like your BBS is spelled differently in the distributed Synchronet BBS lis
t (data/sbbslist.json):

What's the name or internal code of your DOVE-Net SYNCDATA echo?

Just remove those - it's better to not set them to explicit values unless you ha
