PKware is alive and well. Don't know what their status is on the 2.04g license.
I sent them a message asking for clarification, but you can get the latest
PKZIP for DOS (v2.50) at the following link:
http://www.pkware.com/software/pkzip/dos
It's $47 bucks, and you don't get support. Current PKZIP for Windows (v14.2)
has a CLI so that's also an option if you're running Windows 64-bit.
I personally switched to 7Zip for everything on my board a while ago. Open
Source, free. (http://7-zip.org/license.txt)
