I have tried mint in the past, was just to much junk that came with it.
of coarse mint is based on Ubuntu, which is based on debian.
I really like the Ubuntu firewall ufw, easy to open or block ports.
On my game servers I start with all inbound and outbound ports closed, then I j
ust open ports my servers actually use, I always change my SSH port and VNC port
s to ports that are uncommon.
