Same answer to you. Use a CTRL+ALT+F2 for another tty, up to 11. 12 is used for
kernel or dmesg, and 7 and 1 would be used for X11 depending how you have yours
set up, I haven't tried mint or ubuntu for years now so I don't even know if th
ey have that functionality built in without some configuring.
But if you can use other tty's not under a desktop, you can fire up all the serv
ers you need with a ./serverstartup.sh && in another tty in case you
need to logout of your desktop(or crashing desktop) as i'll keep saying it as..
all servers stay running while you deal with window management problems and
updates..
Blocking ports is pretty easy too.. and those scanner bots will slow your net do
wn when you use unconventional ports too most likely.
get rid of sudo, especially for ssh and use encryption keys only for ssh.. If yo
u really need to, you can su into root.. and if you are running ssh, then
synchro won't be using that port for it's ssh.. I don't use ssh on my system sin
ce it's local I can see it on the screen kinda server. So synchro runs on
the normal ssh port..
