Well, to my mind (as a Biochemist and a ULC minister), it doesn't need to.
Religion is about why things happen, and science is about how they happen.
When I'm wearing my lab coat, then the reason for a particular mechanism is
"because it works well enough to be used". When I'm wearing my dog collar, the
mechanism by which G_d made something happen is a (possibly interesting)
question for a scientist.
